Everyday choices work on the health of our families and our environment. Watkins Natural Lemon Liquid Laundry Detergent is ultra concentrated and requires only 1 ounce per load. This suitable 32 ounce bottle contains 74% less water than industrial 100 ounce detergents; and the 32 ounce containers requires less than half the plastic. Minimize waste and your impact on the environment with Watkins Natural Lemon Liquid Laundry Detergent. Former laundry detergents are often petroleum-based. These detergents deplete a nonrenewable reserved supply and generate pollution when manufactured. Natural laundry detergents sacrifice the whole of chemicals and toxins that come into direct contact with your family’s skin as well as sacrifice energy costs and safe water supplies. This natural formula also contains a soy-based fabric softener to leave clothes feeling soft and clean. Ideal for both front loaders and high efficiency washers.

Watkins selected Natural Cleaning Products feature plant-based formulas that are:

o Ammonia Free

o Animal Ingredient Free

o Benzene Free (Benzene exposure has serious health effects. The short term breathing of high levels of benzene can effect in death, while low levels can cause drowsiness, dizziness, rapid heart rate, headaches, tremors, confusion, and unconsciousness.)

o Biodegradable

o Boron Free

o Butyl/Ethyl Cellosolve Free (Some animal studies indicate that it produces reproductive problems, such as reduced fertility, death of embryos and birth defects.[2] people exposed to high levels of 2-butoxyethanol for some hours have reported nose and eye irritation, headaches, vomiting and a metallic taste in their mouths. In expanding to inhaling 2-butoxyethanol vapor, research has shown that skin can also suck up 2-butoxyethanol vapor from the air, making skin a major pathway of exposure to this chemical.)

o Chlorine Free (Chlorine is a toxic gas that irritates the respiratory system. Because it is heavier than air, it tends to derive at the lowest of poorly ventilated spaces. Chlorine gas is a strong oxidizer, which may react with flammable materials.)

o Diethylene Ether Free (1,4-Dioxane is a known eye and respiratory tract irritant. It is suspected of causing damage to the central nervous system, liver and kidneys.[3] Accidental worker exposure to 1,4-dioxane has resulted in some deaths.[4] Dioxane is classified by the Iarc as a Group 2B carcinogen: maybe carcinogenic to humans because it is a known carcinogen in animals.)

o Dye Free

o Formaldehyde Free (Formaldehyde solutions are used as a fixative for microscopy and histology. Formaldehyde-based solutions are also used in embalming to disinfect and temporarily retain human and animal remains.)

o Isopropanol Free (Isopropyl alcohol is oxidized by the liver into acetone by alcohol dehydrogenase. Symptoms of isopropyl alcohol poisoning contain flushing, headache, dizziness, Cns depression, nausea, vomiting, anesthesia, and coma. Use in well-ventilated areas and use protective gloves while using. Poisoning can occur from ingestion, inhalation, or absorption.)

o Kerosene Free (Kerosene is widely used to power jet-engined aircraft (Jet fuel) and some rockets, but is also generally used as a heating fuel and for fire toys such as poi.)

o Mineral Spirit Free

o Never Tested On Animals

o Non-toxic

o Petrochemical Free (Petrochemicals are chemical products made from raw materials of petroleum or other hydrocarbon origin.)

o Phosphate Free (A phosphate, an inorganic chemical, is a salt of phosphoric acid.)

o Phosphoric Acid Free (Phosphoric acid, used in many soft drinks (primarily cola), has been linked to lower bone density in epidemiological studies.)

o Propylene Glycol Free (Eye – Causes mild eye irritation. contact may cause irritation, tearing, and burning pain.

Skin – Causes moderate skin irritation. contact with the skin may cause erythema, dryness, and defatting.

Ingestion – May cause gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Low hazard for usual industrial handling. May cause hemoglobinuric nephrosis. May cause changes in outside Eeg.

Inhalation – Low hazard for usual industrial handling. May cause respiratory tract irritation.

Chronic – May cause reproductive and fetal effects. Laboratory experiments have resulted in mutagenic effects. Exposure to large doses may cause central nervous principles depression. Lasting ingestion may cause lactic acidosis and potential seizures.)

o Sodium Lauryl Sulfate Free (Sls can be converted by ethoxylation to sodium laureth sulfate (sodium lauryl ether sulfate; Sles), which is less harsh on the skin, probably because it is not as much of a protein denaturant as is the unethoxylated substance.)

o Sulfuric Acid Free (Although sulfuric acid is non-flammable, contact with metals in the event of a spillage can lead to the liberation of hydrogen gas. The dispersal of acid aerosols and gaseous sulfur dioxide is an supplementary hazard of fires entertaining sulfuric acid.)

Leading Laundry Cleaning Brands in market Ingredients

Consumers have come to be much more concerned about how the products they use impact the environment in new years. Unfortunately, it can be difficult for even very educated consumers to find out just what ingredients are in unavoidable products, and how they might impact the environment.

Take the leading brand laundry detergents. You really won’t get a level rejoinder by finding at the ingredients label, where you typically find the following cryptic message: “Ingredients contain surfactants (anionic and nonionic) and enzymes.”

We cannot furnish you with specific ingredients used in Tide or other name brand laundry detergents, for a join reasons. First of all, companies are not required by law to list their ingredients, and claim that their formulations are confidential. Secondly, the ingredients they use turn periodically, either due to reformulation or simply the use of alternative ingredients to sacrifice costs. However, the following list of ingredients generally used in the leading brands, along with a report of how they impact the environment, should give you a good idea of what’s really inside:

Alkyl benzene sulfonates or Abs (also linear alkyl benzene sulfonates or Las, linear alkyl sodium sulfonates).

A class of artificial surfactants (usually identified as “anionic surfactants.”) Abs are very slow to biodegrade and seldom used. Las, however, are the most coarse surfactants in use. During the manufacturing process, carcinogens and reproductive toxins such as benzene are released into the environment. While Las do biodegrade, they do so gradually and are of low to moderate toxicity. Las are synthetic. The pure compounds may cause skin irritation on continued contact, just like soap. Allergic reactions are rare. Because oleo-based alternatives are available, Las should not be used.

Alkyl phenoxy polyethoxy ethanols (also nonyl phenoxy ethoxylate or nonyl phenol).

This is a general name for a group of artificial surfactants. They are slow to biodegrade in the environment and have been concerned in Lasting health problems. Researchers in England have found that in trace amounts they activate estrogen receptors in cells, which in turn alters the activity of unavoidable genes. For example, in experiments they have been found to stimulate the growth of breast cancer cells and feminize male fish. One member of this family of chemicals is used as a coarse spermicide, indicating the general level of high biological toxicity linked with these compounds.

Artificial fragrances

Artificial fragrances are made from petroleum. Many do not degrade in the environment, and may have toxic effects on both fish and mammals. Additionally, they often can cause allergies and skin or eye irritation.

Diethanolamines (also diethanolamine, triethanolamine and monoethanolamine).

A artificial family of surfactants, this group of compounds is used to neutralize acids in products to make them non-irritating. Diathanolamines are slow to biodegrade and they react with natural nitrogen oxides and sodium nitrite pollutants in the atmosphere to form nitrosamines, a family of

potent carcinogens.

Edta (ethylene-diamino-tetra-acetate).

A class of synthetic, phosphate-alternative compounds used to sacrifice calcium and magnesium hardness in water. Edta is also used to preclude bleaching agents from becoming active before they’re immersed in water and as a foaming stabilizer. Edta does not effortlessly biodegrade and once introduced into the general environment can re-dissolve toxic heavy metals trapped in underwater sediments, allowing them to re-enter and re-circulate in the food chain.

Optical brighteners

Optical brighteners are a broad classification of many different artificial chemicals that, when applied to clothing, turn Uv light wavelengths to graphic light, thus making laundered clothes appear “whiter.” Their inclusion in any formula does not improve or work on the product’s doing in any way; they simply trick the eye. Optic brighteners do not effortlessly biodegrade. They are toxic to fish when washed into the general environment and can generate bacterial mutations. They can cause allergic reaction when in contact with skin that is then exposed to sunlight. Most Optic brighteners are given trade names which consumers are unlikely to see on a label.

Petroleum distillates (also naphthas).

A broad category encompassing almost every type of chemical obtained directly from the petroleum refining process. Any ingredient listed as a “petroleum distillate” or “naphtha” should be conjecture as it is, firstly a artificial and, secondly, likely to cause one or more detrimental health or environmental effects.

Phosphates

A key nutrient in ecosystems, phosphates are natural minerals leading to the maintenance of all life. Their role in laundry detergents is to remove hard water minerals and thus growth the effectiveness of the detergents themselves. They are also a deflocculating agent; that is, they preclude dirt from settling back onto clothes During washing. While relatively non-irritating and non-toxic in the environment, they nonetheless lead to essential eutrophication of waterways and generate unbalanced ecosystems by fostering dangerously explosive maritime plant growth. For these reasons they are banned or restricted in many states. Products containing phosphates should be carefully unacceptable.

Note: The major laundry detergent manufacturers no longer use phosphates in their formulations.

Polycarboxylates

Similar in chemical buildings to unavoidable plastics and acrylic compounds, these are relatively new, artificial phosphate substitutes. Because they are new additions to the consumer stock chemical arsenal, however, their effects on human and environmental health remain largely unknown. Though tests show they are non-toxic, do not interfere with treatment plant doing and generally determine out with the sludge During water treatment, until supplementary study and analysis are conducted, use of this ingredient is not recommended. Further, they are not biodegradable and are petroleum based.

Polyethylene glycol (also Peg).

Another type of anti-redeposition agent, Peg is a polymer made from ethylene oxide and is similar to some non-ionic detergents. Not carefully toxic, it takes large doses to be lethal in animals. However, Peg is slow to degrade and is synthetic.

Quaternium 15

An alkyl ammonium chloride used as a surfactant, disinfectant and deodorant that releases formaldehyde, a potent toxin.

Xylene sulfonate

Xylene is a artificial that, when reacted with sulfuric acid, creates a surfactant. Slow to biodegrade in the environment and gradually toxic.

Take advantage of the natural cleaning power of Watkins Lemon Liquid Laundry join Detergent and feel the dissimilarity from chemicals to simply soft and pure.

Acai lupus results are going to be dissimilar for you than they were for me. Lupus is what one might call “an private disease” because it affects each man differently. So, it goes without saying that how acai affects each man is going to be dissimilar as well.

This is about my personal results and I’ve shared them in other places. The one thing I changed outside of my normal eating and sleeping was finding acai any years ago. I use it commonly and some things changed.

Does it mean they are all attributed to adding more antioxidants, fiber, protein, necessary fatty acids, etc. That come from acai berries? No, it just means these are things me and my physician observed as a convert in my life.

You are probably anxious to know how it worked for me.

On a personal level, acai berries have admittedly assisted me in dealing with Lupus as a disease…

-I no longer take diabetic medication -My high blood pressure stabilized -I no longer (after 53 years) get migraines that last for days, weeks and sometimes even months -The swelling on my ankles and knees reduced -My cycles became more regular -I was interested in sex again -I sleep more than 3-4 hours a night now -I am not depressed every day, I would admittedly cry for long periods -My hair grows 1/4 inch a week now -I do not have as much down time when I have a Lupus flare up -I do not get a cold that lasts for months any more -I lost weight -I can now walk in short distances about a mile a day -I still am not on a kidney machine -My T-Cell count is not as erratic -My kidneys protein level is better, not as high -My spastic colon is better, not as irritable -I can join good -I heal quicker-something that is hard for man with an immune disorder.

Again, these are my personal observations about my life. I do admittedly believe, if I have not been adding acai berries to my diet now for over 3 years that I would not be in the best possible health finding that I have industrialized Sle (lupus). When you are not eating right, you can feel it…in 4-5 days, and it is not a good feeling. I totally start to run down and can feel a flare up advent on. If you have lupus or know man that does, you understand completely.

Good luck to you with whatever level of Lupus you are living with today.

No one dies from lupus ~ some die from its complications.

Lupus is difficult to diagnose and even harder to treat. There is no singular test that diagnoses this incurable, lasting disease.

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is an incurable autoimmune disease, which holds the ability to debilitate and take lives as a succeed of attacking: healthy cells, tissues, assorted physical systems, central nervous system, autonomic nervous system, blood, skin and vital organs – heart, brain, kidneys, lungs, and so forth.

It is not contagious, cancerous, nor is it rare. It is believed to be far more prevalent than Aids, Sickle Cell Anemia, Cerebral Palsy, many Sclerosis, and Cystic Fibrosis ~ combined.

Men, women, children, and the elderly can construct lupus – although, more women are more likely than men to become diagnosed with it. There are more lupus patients of color, rather than Caucasians, who have, and are more likely to get, the disease.

According to the Lupus Foundation of America, there are four recognized forms of lupus:

Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus
Drug-induced Lupus Erythematosus
Neonatal Lupus
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Systemic lupus is the most common form of lupus, and is what most habitancy mean when they refer to “lupus.” Systemic lupus can be mild or severe.

Sle Lupus can attack any system, tissue, or cell in the body.

Systemic lupus, which left untreated, can be life-threatening. Its symptoms are as ample as the disease itself. One of the saddest realities of this disease is that it is usually not diagnosed until the inpatient becomes, temporarily or completely, debilitated or is in a life-threatening stage of the disease.

Symptoms vary from inpatient to inpatient and contain – but are in no means petite to: debilitating joint pain and severe fatigue, as well as seizures and vital organ (kidneys, lungs, heart, and brain) malfunctions, memory problems (also known as lupus fog) and confusion, hardening of the arteries, hair loss, sore throats and fevers, butterfly rash across the bridge of the nose and cheeks.

An un-diagnosed inpatient may not show any symptoms, while the disease is working quietly behind the scenes attacking the blood by creating blood clots. These blood clots can occur in the in any place in the body, including the lungs and brain.

This can succeed in a stroke, even death.

Lupus can be an highly isolating and scary disease.

Just like any life-altering or life-threatening illness, the burden this puts on an individual, a marriage, and a house can be devastating.

It’s been said that many marriages end in separation while the first year of a lupus inpatient getting a firm diagnosis, because the ramifications of the disease are so far-reaching. The symptoms, the financial burden, and the changes in lifestyle can sometimes be too much for a marriage to withstand.

Support and Awareness of Lupus

When a man gets cancer, devastating as it is, there is typically an outpouring of maintain from friends, family, co-workers, and even acquaintances. habitancy know what cancer is; we understand Aids and other wide-spread diseases. Lupus, while it does not derive a death sentence, it can take lives.

Information and maintain is surely obtained. Friends seem to come out from all directions contribution to help. Doctors and researchers understand cancer, and as we most know – can cure some forms of cancer, if it’s caught in time.

Lupus, however, is highly difficult to diagnose because its symptoms mimic less severe illnesses, and there are periods where symptoms aren’t gift at all. For the most part, lupus patients look healthy – and as a result, they are typically branded as hypochondriacs.

Researchers now know that lupus patients have a genetic predisposition to getting it, but isolating the singular gene or genes and seeing a way to stop it from developing into lupus still remains a mystery.

While most patients go an median of four years before getting a firm diagnosis, I was one of the fortunate few. I received a pathology within a month. For the prior 10 years, I had endured bothersome, painful, and often debilitating and undiagnosed symptoms.

The morning of New Year’s Eve 1997, I had my first seizure. It was one of hundreds to come. I saw a Neurologist soon after the New Year, and I now laugh at the recollection of his response, “a lot of women faint. You’re drinking too much water.”

(Years later, this doctor called and apologized for being so flippant and dismissive. He added that I helped him see how serious this disease is and that he would make strides to educate himself so he never made that mistake again.)

Shortly thereafter, I saw a newly-licensed doctor practicing at an urgency clinic. Apparently he’d paid close attentiveness to autoimmune disease lectures while med school, because he took one look at me – my eyes, in particular, which were profusely inflamed (severe keratitis), and he ran the first of many tests, which led to a pathology of Systemic Lupus.

Getting a pathology is the first part of the battle.

Once a firm pathology is made, seeing allowable treatment can be an even more difficult task.

The year I was diagnosed, I fought tirelessly to get allowable treatment. I underwent over 100 tests and saw 30 distinct specialists, including five distinct Rheumatologists ~ after I was diagnosed.

Entrusting my health to the then-most highly-regarded lupus specialist in the Greater Orlando area, I realized the magnitude of the battle that lay ahead. My weakness, fatigue, and pain throughout my body was nothing short of surreal. Exhibiting a host of superior lupus symptoms, such as blue fingers and toes, full-body lesions, hair loss, fever, along with nausea and dizziness that was nearly intolerable – and blood tests to confirm all, this healthcare pro retorted, “You’re frizzed out and there’s nothing I can do for you.”

Atlanta Bound

It took months before I found allowable treatment. At the hand-written hint via fax from Dr. Daniel J. Wallace, Chief Rheumatologist at Mount Cedar Sinai in Los Angeles, I made an urgency trip to Atlanta to see his colleague. Too ill to stand, I rested in a makeshift bed in the back of my Suv, while my former husband drove eight hours north to meet the second-ranked Rheumatologist in the country.

After recounting my plight with this Doctor, he was stunned at the ‘medical treatment’ I’d received to date. Dr. Rattandeep Singh, Md of Atlanta, Georgia saved my life.

Granted, I was not in the life-threatening stages of lupus any longer, but I was not living whatever close to a functioning life. I was housebound, bedridden, or otherwise in a wheelchair the majority of the time.

Symptoms vary from inpatient to patient, day to day, week to week, month to month. One thing doctors, researchers, and patients agree upon is lupus that is unpredictable. Lupus patients count on its unpredictability, and they plan their days nearby it.

Just as symptoms vary from inpatient to patient, so do the treatments. They range from steroids and anti-malaria drugs, to kidney dialysis, chemotherapy and hospitalization for heart, lungs, and other vital organ involvement.

A dear friend who received a blow-by-blow list of my first two-year battle with lupus and saw for herself first-hand what I was dealing with: using a wheelchair, uncontrolled seizures and living with heart and lung complications, she still did not recognize how ill I felt – until I received a call a few weeks later.

She had been working at the University of Chicago’s hospital. On a disposition basis she walked by a wing dedicated to treating patients with severe kidney malfunctions. She called me one night, nearly in tears, because she couldn’t believe the horrible pain these patients were in. Then she added, “Most of these patients have lupus. I had no idea it was this serious.”

Proper research and Advocacy

The most sobering fact about lupus is, if we had allowable research funds ~ no one would die from its complications. This does not need to be a fatal disease. Lupus patients and the doctors treating them need funds for cutting-edge lupus research – and that starts by raising awareness about it.

According to the Huffington Post, the Fda has just backed the first new lupus drug in 50 years.

“I think it’s very interesting that this is the first new drug in five decades, but it’s not magic bullet,” said Dr. Maria Suarez-Almazor of the Md Anderson Cancer town in Houston

It is my sincere hope this description helps raise awareness, particularly for healthcare professionals who claim “no one dies from lupus.”

My first book of photography and quotes, “Perspectives: Words on Hope, Truth, and Integrity” is one of the many art forms I’ve sold over the years to help raise awareness and research funds for the Lupus Foundation of America and Howie Dorough’s Wings of Hope Lupus Foundation (a foundation formed after the loss of his sister, Caroline who died from lupus complications at age 38).

Gluten is found in wheat, oats, barley, and rye. Doctors have reported a higher than normal ration of population with autoimmune disorders are allergic to gluten. They suggest faultless avoidance for at least one month to see if benefits will occur. ([http://www.digitalnaturopath.com/cond/C536241.html#G90])

Studies have also shown that wheat can irritate patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis, ([http://carbon.hampshire.edu/~cjarvis/Ns120/2002/Ra.Web/nutrition.html]) Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and Chrohn’s. Gluten also tends to raise inflammation yield in the colon and rectum of those with coeliac disease.

It is not just that you are “allergic” or “sensitive” to gluten. Gluten is contributing to your autoimmune symptoms. It is causing you pain!!! Those symptoms may occur within a few minutes or not for a few days, which makes it hard for you to pinpoint the problem.

Giving up gluten can be a challenge. The digestion of gluten can create an addictive substance that acts like endorphins, our own personal narcotics. These endorphins have the potential to disrupt brain chemistry and cause addiction.

Nature hasn’t left us without gluten-free grains. Quinoa is sometimes called a super-grain. You typically buy it dried. The germ of quinoa is larger than most grains, so it is higher in fiber than many grains. Quinoa is considered a faultless protein and has the highest protein article of any grain known. A cup of cooked quinoa has more calcium than even a cup of milk. Cooked quinoa has a texture similar to tapioca pudding. My family thinks that it has a petite sweet potato flavor. Most importantly, it is gluten-free.

Amaranth is also gluten-free. However, amaranth is not a true grain, but an herb. Amaranth has a nutty flavor and a “sticky” texture. It was a staple in the diets of pre-Columbian Aztecs. Amaranth can be cooked as a cereal, ground into flour, popped like popcorn, or sprouted. Amaranth seed is high in protein, fiber, and contains two times more calcium than milk.

What is it?

A Shampoo Bar looks practically the same as your typical bar of soap, which you would use to wash your hands or face. The only distinction is that this bar is used on your hair. The best thing about shampoo bars, is the fact that they are made using 100% natural ingredients, creating a shampoo that is deep conditioning, fluffy, takes care of your scalp, without stripping it of it’s natural oils, like some harsh shampoos can do, and just looks after your curly hair.

Since they comprise nothing but natural ingredients, shampoo bars do not comprise any synthetic perfumes, alcohol, animal products (meaning that they are excellent for Vegans), harsh synthetics, no unnatural preservatives, no synthetic colours or any other kind of nasty that could cause you and your hair damage.

And if that wasn’t enough, shampoo bars have been lovingly made by hand.

Do Shampoo bars lather up like normal shampoo?

Of course they do. Typical liquid shampoos rely on unnatural synthetic ingredients that are added by the large fellowships that invent them en masse. These ingredients are harsh, but generate the lather effect that you will be familiar of.

Harsh ingredients that cause the lather include:

•	Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (Sls)

•	Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Sles),

•	Cocobetaine and/or Propylene Glycol

These products would be thoroughly redundant, if natural ingredients were not removed.

Shampoo bars, on the other hand, are created in small amounts by scholar companies, and the bars comprise a natural form of glycerine, that the major fellowships will have unnecessarily removed during the process. Glycerine not only takes care of your scalp and hair, but also lathers up just as nicely as nasty-filled liquid shampoos.

All natural shampoo bars comprise are organic butters and oils, with literally nothing icky!

The glycerine, of course, isn’t the only ingredient that ensures you get a lovely rich lather out of your shampoo, but it is also created using fatty acids that lead to the effect.

Fatty acids exist inside some distinct types of oils and butters, and are made up of:

•	Lauric

•	Oleic

•	Ricinoleic

•	Stearic

•	Linoleic

•	Palmitic

•	Myristic

•	Linolenic

Each of the fatty acids generate a distinct type of lather, in a product, so depending on which ingredients a shampoo bar contains, determines how the stock will lather up for you.

Palmitic, Stearic and Ricinoleic all generate a smooth, cream-like lather, with fullness of poppable bubbles. Whilst, Lauric and Myristic both generate lathers that have plentiful amounts of bubbles that are deep cleansing.

If you want a shampoo that conditions, you would need fatty acids like Ricinoleic, Oleic, Linoleic and Linolenic to generate this, whilst if you were finding to gain a hard texture, Myristic, Stearic, Lauric and Palmitic would be needed to generate this.

This lather-effect that is created is the infer that shampoo bars, will never strip your remarkable curly hair of all those important oils that your hair needs. This is because the lather-effect as mentioned, is caused by molecules or chains of carbon atoms, that a. Attract water, and b. Attract oil, together drawing moisture and oil into your hair.

But won’t rinsing, wash the oil and moisture away?

No. Rinsing off a normal liquid shampoo, will cause the oil part of the molecules to wash away down into the depths of the plug hole. This is thanks to the fact that they often comprise too much fatty acid. Shampoo bars, on the other hand, are capable of attaching to things on our hair that we don’t need, such as dirt, hair products, oils etc and removing them, without stripping your curly hair of what it literally needs.

All of this means that shampoo bars (and soaps) are brilliant forms of hair cleansing, and the amounts of glycerine help to protect and level not only your hair, but your scalp too. Ultimately, shampoo bars are super diplomatic on your sensitive skin. Perfect.

Most people don’t take care of their skin the way they should. The good news is that it is never too late to start using natural cosmetics to rejuvenate tired finding skin. This is because natural cosmetics consist of nutritional ingredients that the skin desperately needs. It is like food for the skin! artificial cosmetics can’t do this. It is remarkable how quickly-high quality, natural cosmetics can convert the appearance of fine lines and rough skin.

Step 1 Exfoliate

Did you know that there are dead skin cells on your face clogging your pores and manufacture your skin feel rough? These dead skin cells should be removed with an exfoliator. Exfoliating means you are gently removing them with a facial scrub that contains grit. This is important, because it not only helps your skin renew itself, it also makes it look better. You are basically laying a foundation for any cosmetics that you will be applying over this plane surface. You should exfoliate every week, twice if your skin is not super-sensitive. If you have super-sensitive skin, exfoliate every two weeks. Always wet the face first before applying a scrub. Use polite circular motions. It is prominent to not scrub too hard or too much. Rinse and then pat dry. But don’t forget to be gentle.

Step 2 Cleanse

Soap can dry out the skin and should not be used on the face. This is because it makes the skin feel tight and dry. Dryness is the first indication that a soap or cleanser is too harsh. Instead, use a gentle, natural cleanser. They consist of natural ingredients that rejuvenate and calm the skin. Avoid using wash cloths, because laundry machines do not wholly rinse out all laundry detergents and fabric softeners. These residual harsh chemicals, even in the smallest amounts, can destroy your skin. Remember, the skin colse to the eyes is thin and delicate, so no tugging.

Question: Are sudsy cleansers great for oily skin, creamy for dry? No, sudsy cleansers are detrimental to your skin, because Sodium laureth sulfate, or sodium lauryl ether sulfate (Sles), are much too harsh for the skin and often cause dryness, redness, scaling, itching, etc.

Step 3 Moisturize

After scrubbing and cleansing-it is prominent to put natural moisture back into your skin to keep it finding plumped and supple. Moisturize the first thing in the morning and before you go to sleep. Always give your skin a few minutes to Ant. Eject the moisturizer before applying makeup. Especially blushes or powders, because if you don’t, they will streak or look mottled. The eye area is sensitive, the skin is thinner and requires a dissimilar kind of moisturizer. You should only use creams that are meant for the eyes. Make sure to apply them carefully, not too close to the lashes. You don’t want the lashes to drag any of your cream into the eyes. This can cause stinging and puffiness. If you do have dry skin, night cream can be beneficial. Why? Because, night creams tend to consist of a richer attentiveness of oils. When choosing a cosmetic product, read the label and make sure all of the ingredients are natural. Not all natural cosmetics are truly 100% pure.

Step 4 Makeup

Question: Are high-priced makeup brushes any great than cheap ones? The most high-priced brushes you can buy are the cheap ones. The bristles come out on your face, and they just don’t last. You will end up replacing them often. If you can afford it, invest in some high quality brushes. You will only need a few. And good brushes will allow you to use your less high-priced makeup more effectively. They will also give you the best end result. This is what the makeup indubitably looks like when it is applied to your skin. The one thing women want to perform is a more natural look. Even if you are wearing a lot of makeup, you want it to look natural. But if your brushes are hard and scratchy-then the end succeed will appear hard and scratchy.

Step 5 Apply Makeup: Eyes

If your eyes are deep set it is not primary to apply a lot of eye shadow-a light color on the brow is all you need since the structure is already there. A lot of mascara and a very thin eyeliner will complete the look. Along with structure for deep-set eyes there is also a natural shadow. So colors like pink, purple and orange are good to brighten the eyes. Individuals with wide eyes will look great with a smoky neutral tone. Heavier liner will give dimension to the eyes. If you have smaller eyes, you may build a crease to accentuate the eyelid. Lastly, for big eyes, use a lot of eyeliner on both the inner and outer eye. If you are blessed with big beautiful eyes, don’t use shadow and if you must use it, apply very lightly.

Step 6 Apply Makeup: Cheeks

For individuals with high cheekbones, place the blush on the back section of the cheek in a subtle way closer to the ear and along the jaw line. For those with round faces use more blush in order to originate a cheekbone. If your face has a long structure- apply the blush very subtly. Too much blush will have individuals with a long face finding like your chin is elongated.

Step 7 Apply Makeup: Lips

If you have thin lips and want to make them appear fuller, use a lip liner followed by a lighter color. For those of you who want to tone down lips, use a lot of lip liner and dark colors such as a deep burgundy or brown.

Experimenting with natural cosmetics and makeup can be a lot of fun. The best way to perform your most look is practice. There is nothing wrong with trying a new natural cosmetic brand and finding if it works great for you. Natural cosmetics indubitably are healthier for your skin.

Cats have internal condition problems that cause skin conditions in cats. Pruritus affects the skin of cats because of the nerve fibers that operate sensations such as pruritus, pain, climatic characteristic and touch. In cats, pruritus affects the grooming habits and some scratching is related with this skin condition. When a cat has inordinate grooming habits it may lead to hairballs, soldiery dermatitis, changes in color of the fur and alopecia.

Different Pruritus Lesions That Cause Cat condition Skin Problems

Alopecia is a systematic disease that comes from allergies, malassezia, fungal infections and demodex. Hypereosinophilic syndrome has no known causes, but does have signs such as vomiting, weight loss and diarrhea along with anorexia and eosinophilia. Eosinophilic dermatitis comes from hypersensitivity and mosquito bites. This ordinarily affects the ears, feet and face of the cat.

Ulcers and erosions due to trauma, affects the neck and head of the cat and comes from food allergies, parasites, ringworm, tumors and atopy. soldiery dermatitis affects the back, neck and the tail. This condition is caused by allergies, infections and parasites. Nodules, affects Siamese cats and is very rare but comes from mast cell tumors. The last pruritus lesion that affects cat condition skin conditions is crusting and scale lesions. This comes from ringworm, immune disorders and Sle.

If the pruritus is severe, medications can only ease the pain temporarily. Once the treatment is finished, the itching reoccurs and causes pain to the cat. It is best to eliminate the problems causing the pruritus than it is to keep a cat on prolonged medication. If your cat has an allergy, tests can settle what is causing the problem, then treatments will help prevent further pruritus on the cat. Some methods of treating pruritus are topical treatments and antihistamines along with prostaglandins and antimicrobials and in some cases corticosteroids, which are not as safe for cats because of the side effects.

Topical Treatments And Antihistamines for Pruritus

Shampoos and moisturizers that comprise anti-inflammatory medication help to sacrifice environmental allergies and alleviate the pruritus lesions. In some cases, hydrotherapy works for environmental allergies as well. An antihistamine prevents the release of histamines. When given before the release of histamines, antihistamines block impurities from causing pruritus. In some cases, antidepressants are given with the antihistamine treatment for further prevention. Antihistamines are only about thirty percent sufficient in treating pruritus on cats. Because they are safer than corticosteroids, they are still prescribed to treat cat condition skin problems.

Corticosteroids such as prednisone may cause side effects, but are used as a last resort if the cat does not riposte to other medications that are safer. Some of the side effects may cause hunger and thirst, which could consequent in an overweight cat with kidney failure.

Prostaglandins and Antimicrobials

Prostaglandins help to stop the itching as an anti-itch medication. This type of relief works well after the onset of pruritus. Antimicrobials are anti-fungal and anti-bacterial medications that safe the cat condition skin from pruritus if the basal cause is from bacterial or fungal infections.

Deciding either or not to have a second child can be agonizing. Two

children is the norm. Yet more and more couples are stopping with one.

How can you conclude what’s best for you?

Here are some tips for development one of life’s biggest decisions:

*Consult your partner. Your spouse’s insights may help with

your own plan process. It’s also prominent to understand each other’s

concerns. Hearing my husband’s fear that someone else child would stress our

marriage, I kept date night on the program after our second baby arrived.

*Don’t rush. Having children who are three years or less apart in

age is hard on parents early on. If you’ve just had your first and aren’t

racing the biological clock, take a breather. Some of the happiest

parents have children who are widely spaced.

*Weigh the sibling factor. Providing a sibling for your firstborn is

not a enough calculate for having someone else baby. Not all siblings get

along, and singletons do fine. You need to want to raise someone else child. If

you want a playmate, dispose a playdate.

*Visualize life with two. With one child you can hang on to your

adult life. Two puts you firmly in the kiddie world. Expect dinners at the

pizza restaurant, not the bistro. Put in order to double the sick days, but also

double the fun, especially as your kids grow and play together.

*Visualize life with one. You get lots of time together with an

only child. You’re also the default entertainment. Count on enjoying a

close, special relationship, and playing a lot of Candyland.

*Think ahead. Okay, so you want someone else baby. But do you want

another teenager? Or are you just trying to retain the baby stage of

parenthood, which passes no matter how many kids you have?

*Consider your resources. The second child can strain you

financially, emotionally and physically. But you’ll also grow to meet the

challenges and realize how much you learned the first time around.

*Reframe the question. How would you feel upon learning that

you couldn’t have someone else child? Sad? Relieved? Listen to your first

reaction to this question.

*Make a choice. Decisions are hard, but empowering. If you

can’t decide, consult a therapist. Therapy can be especially helpful if you

and your partner disagree on either or not to have a second baby.

Recognize that stopping with one child is a selection too.

*Revisit your decision. Asked either I wanted a second when

my first was a baby I answered, “No way!” A year later I’d decided to go

for it. Everything can look dissimilar once your little one sleeps through

the night. Rest can make you eager to have another, or considered to

stop with one!

Excessive scalp hair loss is a severe challenge to a woman’s self image and her standing in firm and society. Although we normally think of balding as a man’s problem, women actually make up forty percent of the people in North America experiencing the distress of inordinate hair loss. Many women losing requisite scalp hair have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Safe, effective, natural therapies that treat the hormone imbalances connected to Pcos will also restore your hair to optimal health. I am delighted to offer you these requisite tools to help you restore your hair and your health.

Women experiencing hair loss lose ground fast in today’s world. At work and in her personal life a woman’s appearance has much to do with her financial and collective success. Men may also prefer not to go bald. But since balding is known to be caused by high levels of testosterone, a bald man may be credited with extra virility. There is no such happy story for balding women. The appearance of thinning scalp hair translates to a requisite loss of personal power for women.

The medical society in normal treats women’s hair loss as a minor condition issue. Most physicians have little inclination to address the emotional distress you feel. In many cases physicians treat balding as if it were “only” a vanity issue; they may not identify hair loss as a red flag pointing to serious metabolic conditions, including Pcos.

The psychological pain of hair loss and its corollary on our sense of empowerment is as devastating as any disfiguring disease. If you are a balding woman, your hair loss is a life altering condition with profound consequences for your health. Getting your hands on the wheel and driving yourself toward a explication for hair loss is the first step toward reviving your sense of personal impel and power. If hair loss is part of Pcos, the effort you make to restore your physical condition will also renew scalp hair growth.

You need devotee help to properly diagnose the cause of your hair loss. Hair loss that could have been merely temporary may become permanent if you have a delayed or incorrect diagnosis. Misdiagnoses is possibly the most frustrating aspect of hair loss for women. The information I gift here will help you identify the cause of your hair loss and ideally lead you and your doctors to allowable treatments for your kind of hair loss, sooner rather than later.

Alopecia is the medical term for inordinate or abnormal hair loss. There are different kinds of alopecia. What all hair loss has in common, either it’s in men or women, is that it is all the time a symptom of something else that’s gone wrong. Your hair will remain on your head where it belongs if hormone imbalance, disease, or some other condition is not occurring. That condition may be as simple as having a gene that makes you susceptible to male or female pattern baldness. Or it may be as complicated as a whole host of diseases. Hair loss may be a symptom of a short-term event such as stress, pregnancy, or a side corollary of inevitable medications. In these situations, hair grows back when the event has passed. Substances including hormones and medication can cause a convert in the hair increase patterns. When this happens, increase and shedding occur at the same time. Once the cause is dealt with, hairs go back to their random pattern of increase and shedding, and balding stops.

Alopecia: A base Problem

Today more women than ever are experiencing hair loss — and the causes are typically quite different that what causes balding in men. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, some 30 million women in the United States are experiencing some degree of distressing scalp hair loss. The most base causes of scalp hair loss in women can include:

Mineral or vitamin scantness – zinc, manganese, iron, vitamin B6, biotin

Essential fatty acid scantness from a low calorie diet or eating disorders

Protein deficiency, as is base with vegetarian diets

Anemia from a low iron diet, poor digestion or any excess blood loss

Eating disorders, like anorexia, bulimia, even ‘yo-yo’ dieting; also compulsive or inordinate physical exercise

Drug toxicity, for instance anesthesia with surgery or chemotherapy for cancer

Many prescription medications have hair loss as a potential ‘side’ effect, including bromocriptine, beta blockers, Ace inhibitors, amphetamines, anti-cholesterol agents

Severe infections, either viral or bacterial

Severe stress, either a sudden greatest event or persistent, long term challenges

Any hypothalamic or pituitary disorder

Any liver, thyroid gland, adrenal gland or ovarian disorder, including Pcos

Any sex steroid imbalance such as low progesterone, estrogen dominance, excess testosterone or insulin

Starting or stopping any hormone therapy, including birth control pills, menopausal hormone exchange medicine or thyroid hormone replacement

Any natural event that causes big hormone changes, like child birth, breastfeeding and weaning or menopause

Perms, hair color, bleach, improper brushing/combing, pulling on the hair

Autoimmune disease such as lupus or many sclerosis

Allergies to foods, medicines, environmental chemicals or topical drugs

Recent hepatitis B shot. If you had a Hep B vaccine since this hair loss started, there may be a connection. An record in the Journal of the American medical association (278:117-8, 1997) links the Hep B vaccine to increased incidence of alopecia in women.

How does an private woman frame out why she is losing too much of her hair? To understand that, it’s important to understand how hair grows.

Hair Grows in Cycles

Scalp hair grows about one-half inch per month. An private seaboard of hair will grow for two to six years. eventually each hair “rests” for a while, and then falls out. Soon after, that follicle will start growing a new strand. A healthy scalp will let about 100 of these cycling hairs fall out every day.

In folks with a genetic predisposition to hair loss, and for women with Pcos, hormones called androgens drive this process. Androgen hormones include testosterone, androsteinedione, and dihydrotestosterone (Dht). Men make and use relatively large amounts of androgens. Appropriate, smaller amounts of androgens are requisite to women’s condition as well.

In those who are genetically susceptible, testosterone activates enzymes produced in the hair cell, which then cause it to be converted into the more potent androgen Dht. Dht then binds with receptors deep within the hair follicle. Eventually, so much Dht builds up that the follicle begins shrinking. It can’t produce new hair reliably. Some of the follicles constantly stop producing new hairs. The end corollary is requisite hair loss. The medical term for this condition is androgenic alopecia. Testosterone converts to Dht with the aid of the enzyme Type Ii 5-alpha reductase, which is held in a hair follicle’s oil glands. Actually, it’s not the amount of circulating testosterone that is the problem but the amount of Dht clogging up and shrinking scalp follicles, production it impossible for healthy hair to survive.

The process of testosterone converting to Dht, which then harms hair follicles, happens in both men and women. normally women have a tiny fraction of the amount of testosterone that men make. It seems that for women with hair loss, the actual level of testosterone is not as crucial as are changes in the amount of testosterone she has. A shift in hormone levels triggered by lifestyle or other factors, will cause Dht- triggered hair loss in women. Even when hormone blood levels remain within what doctors think “normal”, they can become high adequate to cause a problem for an private woman. The levels may not rise at all and still be a problem if you are very sensitive to even normal levels of chemicals, including hormones.

Because our hormones control straight through a delicately balanced feedback system, with signals sent via the blood in the middle of the brain and body tissue, androgens do not need to be raised to trigger a problem. If the so-called female hormones, (which also are requisite to men’s health) are for any think shifting in relation to androgens, the resulting imbalance can also cause problems, including hair loss.

Hormones are all the time changing. Testosterone levels in men drop by as much as 10 percent each decade after age thirty. Women’s hormone levels shift with each menstrual cycle, or due to a lack of regular menses, in pregnancies and menopause. Eating disorders, inordinate exercise, drugs and environmental toxins can also impact hormone levels.

Keys To prosperous Treatment

Treatment of thinning scalp hair must be grounded in changing the habits you may have that withhold elevated androgens. Diet and practice are key to maintaining optimal hormone balance. In fact, for women with Pcos, research is clear- there is no drug therapy more sufficient than allowable diet and regular exercise. First, you get your foundational condition habits in order; then, exact targeted therapies have the best occasion of being sufficient for you.

Women with Pcos may also have excess base dark hair on their face and body. The only way to address the dark, base hair that grows out of follicles that have already been altered by excess androgens, is to destroy the follicle with laser or similar therapy. Once a follicle has changed the type of hair it produces, it will not convert back. It is crucial to tame the excess androgens and forestall conversion of added follicles, before investing in a therapy to constantly destroy facial or body hair follicles.

What Causes Women to Lose Too Much Scalp Hair?

For a long time doctors believed that androgenic alopecia was the main cause of balding in both men and women. Now we know that the process that leads to inordinate hair loss in women is different. It is called female pattern hair loss.

An important contrast in the middle of male and female balding is the pattern in which the hair loss occurs. Female pattern hair loss tends to happen as an ample thinning over all areas of the scalp, including the sides and back. Men lose hair from exact spots, like the temple, the crown, that bald spot in the back of the head. Male and female hormone and enzyme receptor sites are also in different areas of the scalp, causing the different gender connected loss patterns of hair loss.

A second major contrast is that balding in men is normally caused by a man’s genetics and his age, but for women, balding can happen at any age.

Lifestyle Choices, Illness and medical Treatments Cause Hair Loss

Most women with hair loss have many features of their lifestyle, diet and health-related events that contribute. Sex hormone fluctuations are responsible for most female hair loss, including those who have Pcos, a up-to-date pregnancy, menopause, hormone exchange therapy or birth control drug side effects. Chemotherapy for cancer, anti-coagulant drugs, iron- scantness anemia, autoimmune disease can cause hair loss. Any disease intelligent hormone producing glands, including the thyroid, the adrenal and pituitary glands can trigger balding in women. It is requisite for all women to learn the true cause of their hair loss before intelligent any single treatment.

The complicated hormonal changes that accompany polycystic ovary syndrome (Pcos) often corollary in scalp hair loss. Sometimes hair loss is the first sign that a woman is suffering the metabolic disorder that also causes problems with acne, facial and body hair growth, irregular menstrual cycles and infertility. Pcos is connected with increased risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and some cancers.

Thyroid disorders, anemia, persisting illness or the use of inevitable medications, particularly any form of hormone exchange therapy or contraceptive prescriptions- should be thought about a potential cause of hair loss in women. Autoimmune disorders will corollary in somewhat different, often less dramatic hair loss known as alopecia areata — an inflammatory condition in which hair comes out in clumps or patches.

Any drop in estrogen levels, as happens after pregnancy, with menopause, or when changing your hormone therapy including birth control pill use, will cause what is called estrogenic alopecia. In contrast to testosterone, estrogen helps scalp hair grow faster and stay on the head longer, resulting in thicker hair. This is the think women’s hair gets fuller during gravidity when estrogen levels are quite high, then sheds any weeks after the baby is born.

For women who do not have fertility-related hormone changes, estrogen-deficiency scalp hair loss generally starts colse to menopause. This form of female hair loss can be the first sign of approaching menopause. Sometimes the alopecia won’t begin until a few months or even years after menstruation has ended. Not all women get noticeable alopecia after menopause but most have a little thinning.

It’s not uncommon to have many factors complicated in female hair loss. Many women with Pcos have thyroid problems, normally hypothyroidism (low thyroid function). Not only does hypothyroidism lead to weight problems, it can also lead to hair thinning. Some women with Pcos have both an excessively high level of testosterone and an under active thyroid.

If your hair is thinning, you may have heavy metals like lead, mercury or cadmium in your tissues. These poisonous residues saturate our environment. If you have lived near what is, or ever was an market or mining site, or lived with someone who works in a polluting industry, you may be contaminated. If you have ever smoked tobacco, you have a lot of cadmium in your body.

The majority of women with androgenic alopecia have diffuse thinning on all areas of the scalp. Some women may have a aggregate of two pattern types. Androgenic alopecia is caused by a variety of factors tied to the actions of hormones including Pcos, using contraceptives, pregnancy, and menopause. Any blood sugar and insulin hormone imbalance will lead to excess androgens. Women with insulin resistance, from persisting over-eating of refined carbohydrate food, will see more impact from androgens. Insulin resistance is connected with Pcos as well as Type 2 diabetes. persisting stress that depletes adrenal glands can convert the levels of androgens a woman produces as well. This is often the source of problems like infertility, acne and hair thinning in lean, athletic women with Pcos. Heredity may play a role in androgenic alopecia.

Any big event like childbirth or breastfeeding, malnutrition from an alteration in your diet, a severe infection, major surgery, or any greatest stress, can suddenly shift much of the 90 percent or so of your hairs that are in the growing phase or resting phase into the shedding phase. You will see this shift in the rate of hair loss 6 weeks to three month after the stressful event. This is called telogen effluvium. It is potential to lose great bunches of hair daily with full-blown telogen effluvium. normally this type of hair loss is reversible, if major stressors are avoided. For some women however, telogen effluvium is a mysterious persisting disorder and can persist for months or years, without ever completely identifying all of the triggering factors.

Anagen effluvium happens when the hair follicle cells are so damaged they can not recover or reproduce. This is normally due to toxicity of chemotherapy for cancer. Chemotherapy is meant to destroy rapidly dividing cancer cells. Hair follicles in the growing (anagen) phase, are therefore vulnerable. Anagen effluvium means the hair shaft narrows as a corollary of damage to the follicle. The shaft breaks off at the narrowing and causes the loss of hair.

Traction alopecia is damage from hairstyles that pull at hair over time (braiding, cornrows, ponytails, extensions). If the condition is detected early enough, you can convert your styling practice to be gentler on the follicles, and your hair will regrow.

Hormone contraceptives are a important cause of distressing hair loss and other symptoms in women. Since the birth control pill first began being used in 1960, oral contraceptives, injections, implants, skin patches and vaginal rings have become the most generally prescribed forms of birth control.

Unfortunately, many young women are given contraceptive hormones even when they are not sexually active, as a ‘treatment’ for irregular menses or acne. This is a mistake. This is not a medicine that addresses the underlying cause of problem periods or pimples. Contraceptive hormones will severely complicate a woman’s hormone balance and can lead to many condition problems, including requisite hair loss and worsening acne.

All contraceptive drugs use synthetic hormones to suppress ovulation. These drugs cause your ovaries to stop working; they are in a kind of ‘sleep’ state. Instead of having your natural cycles corollary from a dance of signals in the middle of your body and your brain, your tissues are field to synthetic hormones in amounts much larger than your body normally makes. There are many long and short -term consequences to ovarian suppression. Most women caress side effects using contraceptive drugs, including hair loss either during or any weeks or months after stopping the drug.

An record appeared in the Journal of the American medical association (278:117-8, 1997) linking the Hepatitis B vaccine to increased incidence of balding in women.

Diagnostic Testing

In order to successfully treat hair loss, it is requisite to understand why your hair follicles are not healthy. There are diagnostic tests that may help identify the underlying biochemistry that is contributing to your excess hair loss. However, many women with requisite chemical imbalances connected to their hair loss will find that these test results are within the “normal” range. That’s because in many cases hair loss represents a stage of ill-health that is an early phase of a disease that will eventually fully develop. The lifestyle and dietary habits that eventually cause Type 2 diabetes and heart disease will also cause scalp hair thinning and facial hair coarsening in young women. It is normally many years before these same women have diagnostic tests that retell they are diabetic or have coronary artery disease. Many of these women have undiagnosed Pcos.

Selective Sensitivity is the underlying problem

Another think why diagnostic tests may be confusing is because of something called ‘selective sensitivity’ or ‘selective resistance’. It turns out that some body cells are more sensitive than others to the same amounts of hormone. A major complicating factor for some women is that while her muscle and fat may be insulin resistant, other types of organ cells are not. The pituitary, ovaries, and adrenal glands of an insulin unyielding woman are stimulated by higher levels of insulin than is desirable, which causes for instance elevated testosterone. The high levels of androgens in turn increase risk for heart disease, diabetes, and inevitable cancers.

Despite these potential difficulties, it is important to do our best to rule what is and isn’t the cause of a major symptom like persistent inordinate hair loss. Diagnostic tests that can help identify the source of your metabolic imbalance are:

The hair pull test is a simple diagnostic test in which the doctor lightly pulls a small amount of hair (approx. 100 simultaneously) in order to rule if there is inordinate loss. normal range is zero to three hairs per pull.

Hormone levels: Dehydroepiandrosterone, testosterone, androstenedione, prolactin, sex hormone binding globulin, follicular stimulating hormone, and luteinizing hormone. It is ideal to sample for Fsh and Lh on day 19 to 21 of your menstrual cycle, if those days can be identified.

Fasting blood glucose and insulin levels as well as cholesterol and triglyceride levels

A complete blood count plus serum iron, ferritin and total iron binding capacity

Thyroid stimulating hormone plus a thyroid function panel including T3, T4, and T3 % uptake

Vdrl to screen for syphilis

A scalp biopsy should be done before choosing surgical transplant

Densitometry, a magnification device, used check for shrinking of the hair shaft.

Conventional medical Treatments For Hair Loss

You may be very concerned in drug therapies of surgery to address the profound distress of inordinate hair loss. It is plainly human nature to hope for a simple pill or policy that will constantly free us from our problems. Unfortunately drugs never actually furnish a simple solution. Once you swallow a chemical, it is delivered all over your body; it affects your whole body. We cannot control drugs so they have only the effects we want- there are all the time side effects that are more or less problematic. Using drug therapy means trading one problem for some others. Sometimes this is exactly the right thing to do. Other times it is a personal disaster. Most drugs will act on all your tissues there is a danger of side effects that added damage your health. Topical treatments applied directly to the scalp use the lowest doses, and are the least harmful drug choices.

You will enjoy the best results when you begin any medicine as soon as potential after hair loss begins. Stopping the adverse effects of androgens means you can forestall added hair loss. And you can withhold regrowth from the follicles that were dormant still healthy. Depending on how the agent you pick works, stopping medicine will corollary in the hair loss resuming, unless you have also made other changes in your lifestyle that keep androgens at a level that is healthy and not harmful to you.

Below you will find a list of treatments currently being used to treat hair loss in women. Some of these drugs have not been popular ,favorite by the Fda for this single application, however they have all been popular ,favorite for other applications and are used “off label” to treat hair loss. Currently 2% topical Minoxidil is the only Fda popular ,favorite medicine specifically for female pattern hair loss.

The effectiveness of these agents and methods will vary from woman to woman, but many women have found that using these treatments has made a inevitable contrast in the character of their hair and their inevitable self-esteem. As always, treatments have the best occasion of being sufficient if they are geared to the cause of the hair loss as well as to triggering hair growth.

Estrogen and progesterone as hormone exchange therapy (Hrt), typically prescribed for women undergoing menopause for any reason, is probably the most base systemic form of medicine for androgenic alopecia in women.

Oral contraceptives will decrease the output of ovarian androgens, and thus can be used to treat women’s androgenic alopecia. There are gargantuan reasons to avoid the use of either synthetic or bio-identical hormone treatments for your hair loss. Some birth control pills actually lead to hair loss by triggering it or addition it once it’s been triggered by something else. Any private woman may have a selective sensitivity to any hormone combination- what is a low androgen corollary recipe for one woman may be a high androgen corollary for another.

I am no longer able to recommend the use of birth control pills or other hormone-based contraception to young women. Decades of evidence recommend there are fullness of known, and possibly as yet unknown condition risks connected with the use of Any from of reproductive hormones, either prescription or over-the-counter forms. It is clear that the benefits of hormonal contraceptives are accompanied by requisite risks, including production it much more likely that a woman will caress hormone imbalances that lead to a long list of negative effects. Hormone exchange puts you are risk for:

Depression or other mood disorders; decreased libido

Migraines and headaches

Breast lumps, tenderness and enlargement

Vaginal bleeding in the middle of periods

High blood pressure (hypertension)

High cholesterol

Blood clot in the leg, felt as: pain in the calf; leg cramps; leg or foot swelling

Blood clot in the lung, felt as: shortness of breath; sharp chest pain; coughing up blood

Heart attack, felt as: chest pain or heaviness

Sudden loss of foresight or foresight changes, which can be a sign of a blood clot in the eye

Cerebral vascular accident (a stroke): impaired foresight or speech; infirmity or dullness in a limb; severe headache

Liver damage, seen as: yellow eyes or skin; dark urine; abdominal pain

Allergic reaction: rash; hives; itching; swelling; difficulty breathing or swallowing

Acne

Bloating, nausea and vomiting

Changes in your eyes that make it more difficult to wear caress lenses

If you chose a hormone prescription for any reason, you should be sure to use only low-androgen content methods. If you have a strong predisposition for genetic hair loss, insulin resistance, diabetes, heart disease or any female organ cancer in your family I strongly recommend the use of an additional one non-hormonal form of birth control.

Below is a list of birth control pills fluctuating from lowest androgen index to highest:

Desogen, Ortho-Cept, Ortho-Cyclen, Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Micronor, Nor-Q D, Ovcon-35, Brevicon/Modicon, Ortho Norvum 7/7/7, Ortho Novum 10-11, Tri-Norinyl, Norinyl and Ortho 1/35, Demulen 1/35, Triphasil/Tri-Levien, Nordette, Lo/Ovral, Ovrette, Ovral, Loestrin1/20, Loestrin 1.5/30.

The following hormonal contraceptives have a requisite potential of causing hair loss or production it worse:

Progestin implants, such as Norplant, are small rods surgically implanted under your skin. The rods publish a continuous dose of progestin to forestall ovarian function.

Progestin injections, such as Depo-Provera, are given into the muscles of the upper arm or buttocks.

The skin patch (Ortho Evra) is pasted onto your shoulder, buttocks, or other location. It releases progestin and estrogen continuously to forestall your ovaries from producing normal cycles.

The vaginal ring (NuvaRing) is a flexible ring that is inserted into the vagina. This recipe releases the lowest amounts of progestin and estrogen.

Minoxidil 2% Topical medicine – Minoxidil seems to be more sufficient for women than men, for addition scalp hair growth. The manufacturers of minoxidil recommend women use 2% minoxidil. There is a 5% explication available that has been tested and found safe adequate for men. Because the makers of minoxidil have not invested in the charge of gaining Fda approval for promoting 5% minoxidil for use by women, it must be prescribed and used under a physician’s supervision. Small clinical trials on 5% minoxidil for women show that the 5% explication is in fact more sufficient in both retaining and regrowing hair than the 2 % solution.

Spironolactone (Aldactone) is a potassium-sparing diuretic used to treat high blood pressure and swelling. Spironolactone slows the output of androgens in the adrenal glands and ovaries. It prevents Dht from binding to receptor sites in the hair follicles.

Cimetidine (Tagamet) is a histamine blocker, popular ,favorite to treat digestive tract ulcers. It prevents the stomach from producing digestive enzymes. Cimetidine also has been shown to block Dht from binding to hair follicle receptor sites.

Cyproterone acetate is used to sacrifice sexual aggression in men. Cyproterone acetate blocks Dht at hair follicle receptors. It has requisite toxicity and long term side effects and is not available in the Us.

Ketoconazole is a prescription topical treatment. It is primarily used as an antimicrobial for treating skin fungus. It suppresses output of androgens by adrenal glands, testicles and ovaries. Nizoral shampoo contains 2% ketoconazole. There is an over-the-counter version available. It has 1% active ingredient and is not as sufficient as prescription strength.

Finasteride is a drug that inhibits the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, an enzyme that deactivates Dht. It is sold as Proscar to treat prostate enlargement in men. Sold as Propecia it is popular ,favorite by the Fda for male balding. Women should not take it if they are pregnant or might become pregnant because of the risk of feminization effects on a male fetus.

Surgical Implants

Since hair rehabilitation surgery is an selection for the vast majority of the balding men, women may want to think it. However, the type of hair loss most women suffer from makes hair transplants a bad idea.

Few women have the type of hair loss that make them good candidates for a surgical solution. Most men lose hair in well-defined areas, for instance the receding forehead or the first-rate round spot on the top of the skull. little clumps or plugs of hair are removed from areas where healthy follicles are garage and plentiful, and these are transplanted to other areas of the head. Women more often caress an ample thinning over their whole scalp, including the sides and back. Most women have few reliably garage donor sites. Contribution to transplant hair from unstable donor sites is medically unethical and women must not allow their distress about balding to get in the way of a cool- eyed look at the rationale behind medicine options offered.

Are any women good candidates for hair transplant? Yes, some. A small percentage, 2% to 5% of women will have the type of hair loss that will advantage from this type of procedure. They are:

Women who have suffered hair loss due to non-hormonal causes, like traction alopecia.

Women who have scalp scars from some kind of wound or cosmetic surgery and want to repair hair loss colse to the incision or injury sites.

Women who have healthy and garage donor sites along with balding in a inevitable pattern, like a receding hairline or thinning on the very top of the head.

There was a radio talk show that discussed about white spots being some fungi that is contagious and can be transmitted through person to person contact. On the radio show, Dr. Drew recommended using Selson Blue for a merge of days; he said it would clear it up in a merge of weeks. Have you ever tried this, if you happen to have white spots on your skin?

One listener (whose fear grew upon hearing the talk show) has white spots mostly on her arms. They look like itsybitsy bleached spots on her skin and give a blotchy appearance. She wonders if they are contagious or even inherent lupus.

There is a type of lupus that is only on the skin – it is not the one that is concluding that affects the organs. It starts out with blotches – and coin-sized marks on the skin. It also develops ‘sensitivity’ to the sun. If the spots are flat, they could be just a pigment disorder. Some citizen with lupus do not have white spots, instead they get red patches.

If they are fungi, like small white ‘pimples’ on the back of the arms, it is not likely to be serious. A nurse told a patient with this qoute that they are a sign that you are eating something that you are sensitive to. Within 2 weeks of being on the candida diet, the white ‘pimples’ had completely vanished.
